TMCA 2019 Keynote Speaker: Joseph Conlon, Technical Advisor to AMCA


The Texas Mosquito Control Association is pleased to present Joseph M. Conlon MSc, MSc(Ed), BCE, as our Keynote Speaker at this year's Annual Meeting in Waco, TX.

Joseph Conlon, Technical Advisor to AMCA will be the Keynote Speaker at the TMCA Fall Meeting in Waco October 9

Joseph Conlon is a retired US Navy Medical Entomologist serving as Technical Advisor to the American Mosquito Control Association since 2000. During his naval career, he conducted vector control operations and consultations as a US Navy entomologist in 37 different countries worldwide.

As Technical Advisor, Mr. Conlon is responsible for drafting and submitting AMCA regulatory policy documents to local, state and national agencies, including EPA, USDA and USFWS and is a former member of the EPA Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee IPM and Public Health Workgroups. He has provided over 39,000 telephone/written consults on vector biology, pesticide usage and disposal and equipment use/repair to individuals, written/broadcast media, county, state, national and international agencies. He is board certified in MEDICAL AND VETERINARY ENTOMOLOGY by the Entomological Society of America - 1994.

Mr Conlon has appeared on The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, CBS Weekend News, The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, Lou Dobbs, FOX and PBS national TV newscasts. In the past year alone, Mr Conlon has conducted 677 media interviews, totaling over 4 billion media impressions. He has presented 297 invited papers on vector control to universities, international, national, regional and state mosquito control, medical and public health associations.

Joseph Conlon has published 27 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has published 263 articles in various trade magazines and major newspapers. He has testified four times before Congress regarding West Nile Virus and Zika virus control.
